It hasn’t been that long since Crushed Out was last in Asheville. The surf/blues/rock duo — guitarist Franklin Hoier and percussionist Moselle Spiller — not only live out of their van but also run an independent record label from the road, as Xpress reported in December. “We’re a true mom-and-pop outfit,” says Hoier. “We do everything ourselves. We’re in our own little world, so anytime anyone reaches out, it means so much.” Crushed Out’s most recent album is Teeth; the band’s current tour has taken them from Portland, Me. to Denver, Co. and from Toronto to Omaha, Ne. They wrap in North Carolina with a show at Tiger Mountain on Friday, May 29. 9 p.m. show time; Pleasure Chest also performs.
