Emily Kinney is pretty much Romy and Michele’s collective nightmare. Besides being adorable, she’s landed roles in film and TV (on shows like “The Good Wife,” “Masters of Sex” and most notably in the role of Beth Greene on “The Walking Dead”). She’s also released three albums. The most recent of those is This Is War, full of anthemic quirk-pop (a little more pop than quirk). The songs are heart-on-sleeve but also contagious and instantly familiar. Stream it here.
That said, Kinney would probably actually be cool to run into at a high school reunion. She’s fun on screen and in song, and she recently made a weirdly sweet rom-com spoof wherein she falls in love with the DiGiorno frozen pizza Twitter app.
The tour for This Is War brings Kinney to The Grey Eagle Sunday, Nov. 22, at 8 p.m. Jacob Jeffries and Adam Tressler open. $15 advance/$18 day of show.
