Tonight: Brazilian Girls return to Asheville after 10 years

In 2005, New York City-based international party band Brazilian Girls swept through Asheville. Tonight, 10 years later, Brazilian Girls are back to perform new material and classic favorites at New Mountain. Multinational dance rock conglomerate The Hongs opens.

“To attend a Brazilian Girls show — with its blur of beats, colors and textures — is to experience something like time travel: No one else is quite as capable of making a few hours fly by like a few minutes,” says the Verve Music Group

Despite the band name, no one in the group is Brazilian, and only one member is female. Brazilian Girls consists of Sabina Sciubba (vocals), Didi Gutman (keyboards), Aaron Johnston (drums) and Jesse Murphy (bass). Sciubba called into 103.3 AshevilleFM’s Bombshell-ter Radio during the station’s fall fund drive week to discuss the new album, family life and her latest project working with Zack Garifalakis’ new FX show, “Baskets,” which will premier in 2016. Listen to that interview here.

If you’re in town tonight, this is a do not miss event. Get a little closer to Brazilian Girls and The Hongs at the afterparty at Tiger Mountain immediately after the show.
