Review of The Prisoner of Second Avenue
Early in his illustrious career, Neil Simon was often criticized for the shallowness of his characters and the frivolity of his material. While these deficiencies seemed in no way to detract from audiences’ enjoyment of his plays, Simon responded by writing The Prisoner of Second Avenue, an apparently sincere effort to treat of more serious themes and more complex characters, albeit in a comic framework.

Moogfest Day 1: “Best Dance Party of the Night” award goes to Girl Talk
Not surprisingly, Girl Talk won the night’s “Best Dance Party” award with mesmerizing mash-ups of songs that seemed almost impossible to mix together, like Guns ‘n Roses “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies.” As is usually the case at Girl Talk shows, raging fans took over the stage and transformed it into a globular dancing mass of flesh from start to finish.
