Smart bets: 11:11 Awaken Asheville

Visionary hip-hop artist Bryan Divisions has a simple mission: reveal the unity of the world through music. Divisions spreads his message of love and unity with inspirational lyrics focused on spiritual transformation. His latest project is a collaborative effort with similarly progressive artists from around the world. “For 11:11 Awaken Asheville, I’ve teamed up with friends from the East Coast as well as the Czech Republic to bring a consciousness-inspired music event to downtown Asheville,” says Divisions. “It’s my hope that those in attendance leave with a deeper connection to their hearts and souls.” The musician will host the event alongside hip-hop performers The MadScientist, Siyah, Edmond Ivory and MNMK and electronic musicians Guilty Pleasure and WiZo at Timo’s House on Friday, Nov. 11, at 9:30 p.m. $5. We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.

We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
