Craving a challenge and a way to reach new fans, new-to-Asheville sextet Holy Ghost Tent Revival set out to learn the entirety of Beck’s 1999 album, Midnite Vultures. Now, with musical parts down pat, the soulful jazz-rockers are polishing mannerisms and solidifying their attire choices in anticipation of a compelling album cover set. “It’s been a beast to learn,” the band says, “but we knew if we could kick this record’s [fragile body part], everything else in our careers going forward would be an easy, breezy walk on the beach.” Those who missed Beck’s last appearance in Asheville can catch the next best thing — or perhaps, a better thing — at The Mothlight on Saturday, July 11, at 9:30 p.m. $10/$12. themothlight.com.
