Smart Bets: Michael Franti & Spearhead

A familiar face is headlining the Riverkeeper Beer Series at the Salvage Station for the second consecutive year. “Michael Franti & Spearhead brought such amazing energy to Asheville last year that it was a no-brainer to bring him back,” says French Broad Riverkeeper Hartwell Carson. “Asheville loves Michael, and he seems to love us back. Last year he took a surprise tubing float down the French Broad before jumping onstage.” The eclectic pop rockers are touring in support of their forthcoming album, Stay Human 2, and the Franti-directed documentary, Stay Human, which tells the stories of heroic everyday people around the world.     Just my opinion…

    Any musical artist that takes more time to lecture an audience in between songs
    than he does performing a song, nope though I may agree with his beliefs. Preaching to the converted, etc.

    And wearing no shoes does not a SJW make.
    And uh, tubing down a river makes you a tourist.
    That dude has obviously never worked in a kitchen, preformed surgery in a sterile environment or manufactured microchips for NASA in a clean room.
