GetEQUAL holds Veterans Day rally to repeal “don’t ask don’t tell”
About 20 people gathered at the Western North Carolina Veterans Memorial in downtown Asheville this afternoon, Nov. 11, to honor LGBT vets who served in silence or were discharged under the military’s don’t ask don’t tell policy. The event was organized by Angel Chandler of GetEQUAL and featured speeches by her as well as 17-year army veteran Alyce Knaflich and Asheville City Councilman Cecil Bothwell.

In addition to its phenomenal lineup of musical performances, Moogfest offered a wealth of workshops, demonstrations and panel discussions. Moogfest Day 1: “Best Dance Party of the Night” award goes to Girl Talk
Not surprisingly, Girl Talk won the night’s “Best Dance Party” award with mesmerizing mash-ups of songs that seemed almost impossible to mix together, like Guns ‘n Roses “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies.” As is usually the case at Girl Talk shows, raging fans took over the stage and transformed it into a globular dancing mass of flesh from start to finish.
