Press release:

15-year-old singer/songwriter Ian Ridenhour will headline his first Asheville-area performance at White Horse Black Mountain on Thursday, October 22nd. Ian will be joined by drummer James Kylen, bassist Michael Hynes, and guitarist Jamie Ridenhour. The show is at 7:30pm, and tickets are $8 at the door.

Ian Ridenhour is a 15-year-old drummer, keyboardist, singer, and composer who recently relocated to Black Mountain from Bismarck, ND. Since joining the African drumming group Djoliba Jr. at age four, Ian has expanded his musical palette to include rock, funk, jazz, classical, and choral music. A multiple award-winning performer, Ian played in a number of bands on the Bismarck music scene, including Blind Mice, Hex Radio, and Tigirlily, and he regularly performs as a solo artist and bandleader. Ian was nominated in three categories at the 2015 North Dakota Music Awards—Best Percussionist, Best Keyboardist, and Best High School Band (which he won!)

Since graduating high school at age 14, Ian has been focusing on music full time. His first full- length album, Quietly Making Noise, was released in September 2014 and features NPR composer BJ Leiderman and local favorite David LaMotte among a host of other stellar players.
