Press release from Bottle Riot:
– District Wine Bar owners Lauri and Barrett Nichols announce a new name for their River Arts District gathering spot ‒ Bottle Riot. The new name brings an increased focus on community favorites such as wine dinners, guest-chef pop-ups, bimonthly art exhibits and ongoing special events, along with exciting changes to the food and beverage menu. Guests will discover new European beers, signature sandwiches like the traditional Cuban, New Orleans muffuletta and Vietnamese Bánh mì and more retail-to-go options. A wine lover’s dream, cellar staples and the ever-changing collection of unique wines by the bottle and glass will remain.
“We Love You, Asheville!,” a day of customer appreciation and revelry, is planned for Feb.14 to mark the bar’s second anniversary and rebirth as Bottle Riot. Guests will enjoy food and drink specials and giveaways from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
“We’ve received an overwhelming amount of support since opening our doors—and every step of the way to becoming Bottle Riot,” says co-owner Lauri Nichols. “We look forward to celebrating our second year of service, our new name, and our amazing customers and community on Valentine’s Day,” she adds.
Bottle Riot offers 50+ wines by the glass, an extensive bottle list and deliciously obscure European beers. Guests can enjoy drinks in or retail wine and beer to go. The menu highlights family-owned wineries, winemakers and brewers producing exceptional products with minimal intervention using sustainable, organic and/or biodynamic growing practices. The bites menu features ethically produced locally- and regionally-sourced ingredients with cheeses, charcuterie, sweets, sandwiches and limited-time specials. Bottle Riot is available for private events.
Bottle Riot is located in Wedge Studios (lower level) at 37 Paynes Way in the heart of Asheville’s River Arts District. Winter hours: Monday – Friday 4 p.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday noon – 11 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. For additional information, including a schedule of upcoming events, visit bottleriot.com.
