ACSF to host legislative update with Van Duyn and Fisher, May 22

On Friday, May 22, the Asheville City Schools Foundation will be hosting a legislative update with Senator Terry Van Duyn and Representative Susan Fisher. The Teachers, Students and Schools: Who’s Got Their Backs? update will give community members and stakeholders the opportunity to learn about current education related legislation coming out of Raleigh and how it can impact schools in Asheville.

Parents, community members and the media will learn more about the following topics: textbook and materials funding, teacher salaries, and testing. Attendees are encouraged to wear red; the color adopted as the symbol for support of public education in North Carolina.

Please join us in the effort of defending our public schools and advocating for our children, as the decisions made by the North Carolina legislature have a major impact on our community. We need each and every one of you to stay informed, be engaged, and be willing to take action.
