Amboy/Meadow Road public input takes place March 28

Media alert from the French Broad River Metropolitan Planning Organization:

This alert is to let you know about an upcoming public input opportunity for the project U-4739, Amboy/Meadow Road improvements.  NCDOT will be holding a public input meeting on Thursday, March 28th from 4-7 PM at the DoubleTree Asheville-Biltmore, 115 Hendersonville Road.

For more info, see https://www.ncdot.gov/news/public-meetings/Pages/U-4739-2019-03-28.aspx.

While the project description currently reads as “widening to multi-lanes”, more targeted and nuanced improvements are likely to take place between I-240 and Biltmore Avenue in lieu of a full widening, including a new a bridge over the French Broad River, upgrading the intersections as well as adding bicycle lanes and sidewalks.  A raised median to improve traffic flow and turn lanes will be considered.

The opportunity to submit written comments will be provided at the meeting or can be submitted via phone, email or at NCDOT’s public input portal by April 26, 2019.
