Annual meeting featuring author and zookeeper Dave Johnson

PRESS RELEASE: 

On May 21st at 4:30, the Friends of the WNC Nature Center will be hosting its annual Member’s Meeting.

This year’s guest speaker will be Dave Johnson: zookeeper with the Denver Zoo, author of several children’s conservation books and founder of The Katie Adamson Conservation Fund. Dave, who began his animal career at the WNC Nature Center in the mid-1980s, will speak about his time at the Nature Center and his work in zookeeping and conservation. At the end of the meeting, Dave will sign copies of his conservation books.

The Annual Meeting is open to all members of the Friends of the WNC Nature Center. The Friends’ mission is to support the programs, facilities and the residents of the Western North Carolina Nature Center, which showcases the fauna and flora of the southern Appalachian region. The WNC Nature Center connects people with the animals and plants of the Southern Appalachian Mountain region by inspiring appreciation, nurturing understanding, and advancing conservation of the region’s rich biodiversity.
