APD seeks public assistance identifying suspect in three early morning business break-ins

APD seek the public's assistance identifying a suspect in three break-ins.

Press release from Asheville Police Department

Asheville Police Department (APD) is asking the public’s help in identifying a suspect they believe is responsible for three early morning break-ins of businesses on Tunnel Road.

Police are looking for a suspect who appears to have broken into Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and South of Philly within about 45 minutes of one another around 5 a.m. Thursday. Patrol officers and detectives have been diligently investigating and working with business owners. Surveillance footage from one of the businesses shows the suspect, and police are hoping someone may be able to identify him. Police believe he is still on foot in Asheville.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Black male wearing a white hat and tan hoodie.

Police say items were rummaged through in all three break-ins, and in one location, money is reported stolen.

Anyone with information to share with the Asheville Police Department can send an anonymous tip using the TIP2APD smartphone application (search “Asheville PD” in your app store) or by texting TIP2APD to 847411. You can also contact APD at (828) 252-1110.
