APD seeking public assistance: over a dozen shell casings recovered in South Asheville neighborhood, no injuries

Asheville Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon in a south Asheville neighborhood. Thankfully no one was injured; only property damage has been reported at this time.

APD Patrol Officers responded to the area of Brooklyn Road and White Avenue around 6:10 p.m. on Mar. 17 to investigate reports of gun discharge. Officers canvassed the area and located 18 shell casings. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident, and property damage has only been reported at this time.

One home in the area reported property damage from 16 bullet holes to the outside of the residence, inside of the home, and the fence in the backyard of the residence.

A nearby surveillance camera captured an unidentified man and a white truck with a blue front plate believed to be related to the shooting.

Detectives are investigating this incident and are asking anyone who knows the identity of the individual pictured or the white truck to anonymously share information by texting TIP2APD to 847411 or use the TIP2APD smartphone app. You can also share information by calling 828-252-1110.
