Press release from Asheville Police Department:
(ASHEVILLE, N.C. – September 1, 2019) – Just before 2 a.m. this morning Asheville Police Department (APD) responded to a call at Hillcrest Apartments regarding a possible shooting. Upon arrival officers found 36 year-old Leon Bernard White, Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound outside of Building 13. White was transported to Mission Hospital where he died.
The investigation is ongoing.
