APD seeks information on robbery suspects

Home Depot Robbery and Assault

(ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Dec. 02, 2016) – On December 1st, 2016; at approx. 2:23pm, Officers with the Asheville Police Department responded to the Home Depot located at 795 Fairview Rd., in reference to a stabbing of a Loss Prevention Officer. The investigation revealed that an unknown, white male entered the Home Depot and removed several cordless drills and drill kits and exited the store without paying for them.

A Loss Prevention Officer attempted to stop the suspect and a physical altercation ensued. During the altercation, the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm. At this point the suspect retreated to his vehicle which was occupied by an unknown, white female.

Suspect then left the parking lot at a high rate of speed, driving a white, SUV type vehicle. The Loss Prevention Officer was transported to Mission Hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.
