APD makes arrest in Oct. 27 RAD murder – UPDATED

This morning, Oct. 29, Asheville police have made public the victims name. Police say Andrew Stephens Marsh, 35, of Asheville died of a head injury in the incident.

The Asheville Police Department responded to 91 Riverside Drive at 10:57 PM Saturday night [Oct. 27] to investigate an assault. Police found the victim with apparent head trauma. He was transported to Mission Hospital where he later died. The name of the victim is being withheld pending death notification with family members.

Police located 26 year old Ian Alexander Allen, also of Asheville, at the scene. Evidence led investigators to charge Allen with 2nd degree murder.

Ian Allen is being held on a $500,000 bond at the Buncombe County Detention Center.
