The resident summer intensive offers daily classes in Ballet, Pointe, Repertoire, Modern, Jazz, Choreography, and Dance History, with additional special workshops. Serious students ages 11-18 can pursue their training in a supportive, fun environment. The professional staff insures proper instruction at appropriate levels. A limit of fifteen resident students guarantees individual attention. All-inclusive cost for the camp is $650. Call now for personal advice on placement and the application process. Director Ann Dunn is available at (828) 215-3728. Or best, write: ashevilleballet.net or ann.dunn@mindspring.com

Classes will be held at The Asheville Ballet’s state-of-the-art studio, equipped a 2,000 square foot resilient, safe dance floor, surround mirrors, and a baby grand piano. Students have become members of major international companies or performed on Broadway and in Hollywood films. Those who do not continue professionally have had their lives immeasurably enriched by the study of dance. All students improve at an astonishing rate in this intensive week.

Ann Dunn and guest artists will teach daily classical ballet in the Balanchine style (Dunn studied with George Balanchine and his faculty at New York City Ballet). Dunn will also teach choreography, where students will have an opportunity to create innovative movement of their own. The faculty and guest artists have performed professionally with principal world companies or received advanced degrees from leading universities. Other classes will include daily Pointe (or pre-pointe), Classical Variations, Modern, Jazz, and special classes. Dunn will teach Dance History with videos every evening with a home-cooked meal.

The Asheville Ballet, a non-profit professional company, produces an annual, three performance season, including The Nutcracker, December 11-13, 2015, and our free show outdoors at Pack Square Park, September 25-26, 2015. www.ashevilleballet.com
