Asheville Makers, “a friendly community of tinkerers, makers, engineers, educators, scientists, artists, hackers, geeks, etc.,” will hold the group’s weekly meetup at Standard Pizza Co. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 6-8 p.m. “Anyone who is, aspires to be, or just wants to hang around with local smart, creative, friendly, mad scientist folk is welcome!” reads the group’s website.
Organizers are inviting curious individuals to bring in a current manual endeavor for advice or praise “or just come to socialize and nerd out for a couple hours.” Although there are currently no membership dues for the group, the Makers hope to organize and invest in space soon, a move that will eventually necessitate formal dues.
For now, the free, open door policy remains.
“If you are interested in getting involved, or just want to nerd out with like minded folk, come on out!” reads the group’s website.
Standard Pizza is located at 631 Haywood Road. Visit ashevillemakers.org for more information.
