Asheville Police seeking information on attempted kidnapping

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

Last night at approximately 6:30 p.m. the Asheville Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Westwood Road area of North Asheville. A juvenile was walking home when they were approached by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle attempted to lure the juvenile into the vehicle by stating that there was a puppy in the car. The juvenile did not get into the vehicle and contacted a parent. The parent reported the incident to APD.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a white female, early 60s with short, gray, curly hair. The vehicle is described as a newer, light grey, 4-door sedan with Tennessee tags originating from Loudon County.

If anyone has any information on the location of a vehicle matching this description, or has experienced a similar incident, they are encouraged to contact the Asheville Police Department at (828) 252-1110 or Asheville-Buncombe Crime Stoppers at (828) 255-5050, if they wish to remain anonymous.
