Asheville to participate in statewide vigil honoring those who died during Medicaid coverage gap

Press release from N.C. Justice Center: 

On Wednesday, June 5th at 7:00 p.m., 20 vigils will take place simultaneously throughout North Carolina to remember the suffering and lives of people who died from being in the Medicaid coverage gap.

These vigils will be held in rural towns and large cities across the state because unaffordable health care is an issue that affects all North Carolinians.

Vigils have been scheduled in the following areas. All will take place at 7:00 p.m. on June 5th. More details coming soon:

  • Charlotte
  • Durham
  • Elizabeth City
  • Fayetteville
  • Fuquay-Varina
  • Greenville
  • Haywood/Jackson
  • Laurinburg

  • Raleigh
  • Salisbury
  • Southern Pines
  • Wilmington
  • Winston-Salem
