Over the Plain Houses,a spellbinding debut that tells the the story of a woman intrigued by the possibility of change and escape who is stalked by a Bible-haunted man who fears his government and stakes his integrity upon an older way of life. Over the Plain Houses bares the myths and mysteries that modernity can’t quite dispel.

Saturday, July 2 3:00 pm Meet the Author-Susan Parris
At thirty-four, Susan Parris had just gotten her children settled into kindergarten and preschool when she received a breast cancer diagnosis that turned her life upside down. Cancer Mom chronicles her courageous battle with cancer, a clinical trial, and the power of God’s presence in our lives.

Saturday, July 16 3:00 pm Meet the Author-Marci Spencer
Inspired by true events, Marci Spencer records Potluck’s historic flight announcing the good news to waiting crowds: “The Great Smoky Mountains are Saved!” Potluck was a homing pigeon whose story is told in a wonderful picture book. The author will discuss her book and bring two of her own homing pigeons.

Chess players of all levels are invited to join the Smoky Mountain Chess club on Thursday afternoons from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm for games of chess.
