Buncombe County Board of Adjustment to hold public hearing, Sept. 13

This is to inform you that the Buncombe County Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in the meeting room located at 30 Valley Street, Asheville, NC to consider the following applications:

ZPH2017-00053: Warren Sugg, PE of Civil Design Concepts, has applied for a Conditional Use Permit pursuant to §78-677 and §78- 678(b)(6) of the Zoning Ordinance of Buncombe County to develop a 472 unit apartment complex and 15,000 square feet of commercial floor area, thereby amending the previously approved Conditional Use Permit (ZPH2016-00024), on tax lot PINs 9634- 76-4625 (556 Long Shoals Rd.) and 9634-67-7557 (12 Wooster Street);

ZPH2017-00054: Mike Lovoy, PE of Advantage Civil Engineering, has applied for a Conditional Use Permit pursuant to §78-677 and §78-678(b)(7) of the Zoning Ordinance of Buncombe County to develop a wellness center/spa, thereby renewing and amending the previously approved Conditional Use Permit (ZPH2015-00039), on tax lot PIN 9654-14-7561 (Property to the north and west of 2301 Hendersonville Road);

ZPH2017-00055: Thomas Battle has applied for a Variance from §78-642 Dimensional Requirements (Minimum lot size) of the Zoning Ordinance of Buncombe County in order to subdivide an existing parcel on tax lot PIN 8697-81-9087 (11 Fowler Town Road);

ZPH2017-00056: Marcus Jones has applied for a Variance from §78-642 Dimensional Requirements (Minimum lot size) of the Zoning Ordinance of Buncombe County in order to subdivide an existing parcel on tax lot PIN 9629-54-9062 (527 Eliada Home Road);

ZPH2017-00057: Josh Van Der Puy has applied for a Variance from §78-642 Dimensional Requirements (Minimum front yard setback) of the Zoning Ordinance of Buncombe County in order to construct a detached garage on tax lot PIN 0720-01-0673 (5 Crooked Tree Lane);

ZPH2017-00058: John Garner, PE has applied for a Variance from §26-540(a) Retaining Wall Standards (Terracing) of the Retaining Wall Ordinance of Buncombe County and §78-642 Dimensional Requirements (Side yard setback) in order to permit an existing retaining wall system built on tax lot PIN 9677-62-0512 (67 Clear Water Trail Road);

ZPH2017-00059: John Garner, PE has applied for a Variance from §26-540(a) Retaining Wall Standards (Terracing) of the Retaining Wall Ordinance of Buncombe County and §78-642 Dimensional Requirements (Side yard setback) in order to permit an existing retaining wall system built on tax lot PIN 9677-62-2447 (75 Clear Water Trail Road);

ZPH2017-00060: Craig Descalzi, has applied for a Conditional Use Permit pursuant to §78-677 and §78-678(b)(6) of the Zoning Ordinance of Buncombe County to develop a 214 unit apartment complex on tax lot PINs 9667-82-5958, 9667-82-9843, 9667-82- 5736, 9667-82-9630 and 9667-82-6189 (251 and 263 Charlotte Highway);

ZPH2017-00061: Jesse Gardner, PE has applied for a Variance from §78-658(b) Off-Street Parking (Minimum Parking Requirements) of the Zoning Ordinance of Buncombe County in order to reduce the number of required parking spaces for a new retail store on tax lot PIN 9619-58-8535 (872 New Leicester Highway).
