Buncombe County offices closed for Juneteenth holiday June 19

Press release from Buncombe County:

On Wednesday, June 19, Buncombe County offices will be closed in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Buncombe County was a leader in honoring the Juneteenth holiday in 2021 and in 2023, the Board of Commissioners moved to keep services in sync with federal and city partners. Pausing for the holiday will help raise awareness about the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Buncombe County is honored to commemorate this important date in history. Learn more about Juneteenth here.
