Press release from Buncombe County
The passage of the Open Space Bond in 2022 paved the way for the development of more Passive Recreation Lands in Buncombe County. Uniquely positioned between the worlds of conservation and public recreation, Passive Recreation Lands offer access to outdoor activities while minimizing stress on natural resources.
The County’s Open Space Bond Team invites you to learn more about the vision for Passive Recreation Land development, and asks you to help shape the criteria that will be used to select future projects at a community input meeting held on Wednesday, May 17 at Skyland/ South Buncombe Library from 6-7 p.m. Participants will hear from Open Space Bond Manager Jill Carter and representatives of both Buncombe County Ag and Land Resources and Parks & Recreation.
Community members will have the opportunity to share their feedback on the proposed Passive Recreation Lands selection criteria, helping shape the future of county recreation projects for years to come. RSVP for the event by clicking the blue buttons below.
