Every quarter, nursing leadership selects two DAISY winners from blind nominations. The DAISY Foundation is a national nonprofit that honors nurses and the amazing care they provide to patients and families. (https://www.daisyfoundation.org/)

For CNAs, every quarter, CarePartners selects one CNA to win the Compassion iN Action (CAN) award. The award started at Mission Hospital as a way to say thank you to the wonderful CNAs who provide essential care to our patients.

Nominations for these awards come from co-workers, patients and families.

Winners for this quarter are:

–        Melissa Roland, CarePartners Home Health (DAISY winner). Her nominator said in part, “Melissa is dedicated to her patients and her team. She is always positive, telling us, ‘You guys got this!’ She is incredibly team oriented and really brings us all together.”

–        Lydia Foster, CarePartners Inpatient Rehab Hospital (DAISY winner). Her nominator said, in part, “Lydia is consistently educating herself and others on what it means to be a nurse. I truly believe that she goes above and beyond in everything she does to provide the best patient care.”

–        Joanne Faulkenberry, CarePartners PACE (CNA winner). Her nominator said, in part, “Joanne is incredibly compassionate with her patients, whether she is just taking blood sugar level, she is connecting with the patient and meeting them where they are. She is helping patients meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. She is a great team player. She has quickly become the glue that holds our team together.”
