From MG Road
Press release
MG Road’s latest culinary conquest, “Miami Nights,” kicked off on August 18th, and has been a delicious success. Chef Papaya Valdez, (aka Alyssa Ashley Mikus, formerly of Seven Sows and Cucina 24), started cooking Cuban fare from her native Miami every Tuesday, including platefuls of vaca frita, picadillo, ham croquettes, and papas reina, accompanied by succulent cocktails to wash it all down.
As Mikus says, “I’m doing Miami Nights to cook the food I miss so much from home. It’s so much a part of me, but living in Asheville, the selection of Latin American food is pretty much limited to Mexican.”
Beginning the first week of September, Miami Nights expanded to Tuesday and Wednesday nights and made the leap to bring sorely missed Jamaican food to Asheville’s door. Now, expect your cravings to be satiated with plates of beef patties, oxtail stew, and jerk chicken.
As always, DJ Franco will be spinning Miami beats all night long for a night of food, drink, and partying. And don’t forget to stay on the lookout for different Miami cuisine spotlights, like Colombian, Venezuelan, and Argentinean food, on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, @mgroadlounge.
