From the Asheville Citizen-Times:
ASHEVILLE — A new retaining wall behind a project that has already rankled residents in the Five Points neighborhood is being repaired after the 15-foot-tall structure starting failing over the weekend.
“I think they’re just putting a Band-Aid on it,” said Cindy Emanuele, who lives behind the project on Holland Street. “We saw a crack in it Friday, and they were out here working on it Saturday. It looks like they’re putting it back up the same way they built it to begin with. We hope it doesn’t fall again.”
The block wall is going up at the northwest corner of the Harris Teeter grocery store development off Merrimon Avenue. The property will have a Chick-fil-A and other pads available for development, and the wall is on the rear of the property, running along Holland and Eloise streets.
