Press release

CLYDE, N.C. — This week marks the nationwide release of “Life in Mikey’s Mind,” an absorbing new autobiography by author Joseph M. Edwards.

“Life in Mikey’s Mind” is an account of a child growing up in the late ‘40s and the early ‘50s when life was much easier and not influenced by modern-day technology. Mikey had numerous experiences that were highly influenced by his immediate surroundings and an overly active imagination. He encounters many instances where he can use a lot of event embellishment and some stretching of the truth to tell a story. This book, which is full of made-up happenings, peer encounters and big brother antics, will bring back many childhood memories to the readers.

Mikey’s purpose is to encourage the reader to share their childhood experiences with their loved ones and to preserve a much simpler way of life. A child’s imagination was his entertainment and this book has a lot of it.

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Edwards grew up as a Navy dependent and traveled extensively. Upon finishing school, he entered the U.S. Air Force where he spent a 20-year career doing what most boys play at. His literary accomplishments include numerous poems, essays and articles of local and national interest. A number of his works have been published and have also been in The Airman’s Magazine, which is read worldwide throughout all Air Force installations. He and his wife have settled in North Carolina at the base of The Great Smokey Mountain National Park. They spend most of their time traveling and just kicking back whenever possible. They have five daughters and six grandchildren.
