Longtime local recording business, Collapseable Studios, announces that it has closed.
Press release from studio owners:
Collapseable Studios, the popular, affordable destination for local recording artists since 1997, has closed its doors at 503 Haywood Road in West Asheville as it undergoes another metamorphosis.
Aaron Price and Bill Reynolds founded the initially mobile studio in 1997 in Price’s Kenilworth Apartment and saw several locations before putting more permanent roots down on Haywood Road in 2001.
Jeff Knorr and Grant Cuthbertson joined the staff in 2005 and effectively ran the studio after Reynold’s departure from Asheville to play music on the road.
The studio plans to relocate to a quieter location, but may not ressurect the Collapseable name.
The partners all look back on fun times recording and making some fine music in Asheville out of their cultural hub.
