Community members are invited to observe and experience some of the latest technology available in Henderson County Public Schools’ classrooms at the Technology & Innovation Fair held Thursday, May 4, with a drop-in from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Blue Ridge Community College Conference Hall.
Presented in partnership with the Golden LEAF Foundation and the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, the Technology & Innovation Fair will showcase students and staff from elementary, middle and high schools, as they share innovative practices in our district. Visitors can check out the school system’s robotics team in action, experience virtual reality, talk to students and staff about their digital learning projects, and more.
Interested citizens and corporate partners are encouraged to drop by and get a glimpse into the world of technology-rich education that includes critical thinking and problem-solving, and involves engineering and design principles.
“The Technology and Innovation Fair will allow students and staff an authentic audience to share their enthusiasm for the work being accomplished in Henderson County classrooms and extracurricular settings,” said Dr. Jan King, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. “We hope the community will drop by to see some of the exciting learning experiences happening in our school system.”
