(828) 649-1301David Holt and his Lightning Bolts are set to strike Marshall on Friday, October 23.
Four-time Grammy Award winner David Holt is a musician, storyteller, historian, television host and entertainer, dedicated to performing and preserving traditional American music and stories. Holt plays ten acoustic instruments and has released numerous recordings of traditional mountain music and southern folktales. David’s latest UNC-TV production is called “David Holt’s State of Music” and features many of North Carolina’s finest musicians including bandmate, Josh Gofoth.
David will be hitting the stage with his band The Lightning Bolts which includes Madison County native, Josh Goforth. Josh is well known for his instrumental prowess, his stunning arrangements and his effusive personality. “Josh has become a force to reckon with on the national storytelling stage”, remarked Laura Boosinger, Executive Director of The Madison County Arts Council. “He grew up playing at Jerry Adams’ pharmacy and the Depot. He has certainly become one of the best musicians in the business and shares the love about Madison County every time he performs. Many of the band’s songs have roots right here, from Sodom to Lonesome Mountain. This is a musically varied show from blues to old-time, Bluegrass to originals.” Rounding out The Lightning Bolts are Jeff Hersk on bass, guest percussionist Jon Lauterer and Laura Boosinger.
Bring the family and enjoy an evening of great music and stories. Showtime is 7:30. Tickets are $20 in advance and are available at www.madisoncountyarts.com or by calling (828) 649-1301.
