“Do The Write Thing” contest awards go online at 3 p.m.

In partnership with Buncombe County Schools and Asheville City Schools, U.S. Attorney R. Andrew Murray will participate in a virtual award ceremonyFriday, May 15, at 3:00 p.m., to announce the middle school finalists and 2 winners of this year’s “Do the Write Thing” essay contest. Due to COVID-19, the in-person ceremony has been cancelled.  Instead, the awards ceremony will be livestreamed on each school district’s Facebook page.

A press release with the names of the winners will also be issued at 3:15 p.m. For more information on the national “Do the Write Thing” program, please visit http://www.dtwt.org.

Let’s give these deserving kids the proper shout-out they deserve, especially during these unprecedented times!
