ECO hosts Sustainable Living Workshop

Press release from the Environmental and Conservation Organization:

ECO, the Environmental and Conservation Organization, will be hosting its monthly Sustainable Living Workshop on Tuesday, July 23 at the new ECO office on North Church Street. This summer, enhance your garden and menu with fresh, homegrown herbs that enrich both health and flavor! Join Alyssa Sacora, a local homesteader and plant enthusiast, as she talks about ways to incorporate culinary herbs into your daily life. This class will cover basic growing conditions, as well as harvesting and cooking techniques featuring some of our most common (and a few unusual) herbs. Alyssa will also touch on medicinal properties and how they can accompany health in your diet. Come taste, smell, and learn about these amazing plants, and take home an herbal treat to use in your own home or garden.

The class will be held at 611 N. Church Street from 6:30-8:30pm. Registration is required, $15 per person. Materials will be provided. Register online at http://eco-wnc.org/ or by phone at 828-692-0385.
