Press release from Lexington Glassworks:
Expanding Downtown Arts District, DAAD 2.0
The DAAD has made a simple name change, now the Downtown Asheville Arts District. This simple change has allowed us to expand our membership to all arts organizations in the central downtown district, creating a more robust and inclusive downtown arts district.
With expanded membership, DAAD has created a downtown Culture Guide including Galleries, Museums, Shops & Attractions, Performing and Cultural Arts, Tours, and Annual Festivals.
Plans in are the works to revamp First Fridays to increase attendance and encourage more local participation. Member organizations are encouraged to hold receptions or events on First Fridays. We hope to coordinate with other arts organizations to expand offerings, such as shows and tours. We will kick-off the First Friday events in April celebrating the arts in downtown.
