Experience Music Announces May 25th Show at The Grey Eagle

Asheville, North Carolina, (May 17, 2016)Experience Music, a local organization dedicated to supporting the development of young musicians, has announced a Wednesday, May 25th show at The Grey Eagle in downtown Asheville, starting at 6:00 p.m. with doors opening at 5:00 p.m.

The band showcase will feature four youth bands in the Experience Music program, as well as their adult mentor band, Goldie and the Screamers. The bands include local youth that range in ages from 8 to 14. The youth bands included in the showcase are The Fuse, Breaking Point, Dark Dragons, and The Weirdos. Goldie and the Screamers will play a set as well join some of the youth musicians in several songs.

The Grey Eagle show will be the last show before the youth bands break for the summer and return in August. “This is a really big show for the kids!” says co-founder Billy Litz. “All of these bands have played several shows at Pisgah Brewery throughout the school year but this will be their first show at a legendary music venue in downtown Asheville. Likewise, the kids have really enjoyed working with the mentor band, Goldie and the Screamers, and are looking forward to getting on the stage with them.”

While the show is not officially labeled as a “fundraiser” it is certainly a “confidence-raiser” according to co-founder Chuck Lee. “Most of these bands have played several shows together and are getting more confident each time they set foot on a stage,” he says. “Stepping up to play a show on a bigger stage at such a historic venue will really help these kids grow.”

The show is being sponsored by local businesses Prestige Subaru and A New Hope Home Care. “Experience Music is a great opportunity for young musicians to hone their talents and musical abilities in a collaborative way,” Anthony Pelle, Director of Marketing for Prestige Subaru, says. “Experience Music connects young, aspiring musicians with a group of like-minded peers, while also providing them with valuable tools and resources to help them grow as musicians, gain real world experience and develop a greater understanding of the music industry as a whole. Prestige Subaru is proud to support the inspiring work and vision of Experience Music within our renowned musical community of Asheville.”
