Coming up this month at the Flat Rock Playhouse, the 2018 season continues to fill the stage with comedy, wit, and feel-good entertainment with Always a Bridesmaid. Celebrating the success of the 2017 production of The Dixie Swim Club, Flat Rock Playhouse will bring audiences another comedic hit from the same writing team: Jamie Wooten, Jessie Jones, and Nicholas Hope. Always a Bridesmaid tells the story of four high school friends who promise to be in each other’s weddings while they enjoy their Senior Prom. This rollicking comedy captures all the joy, drama, love, and pandemonium of the classic wedding experience while highlighting the difficulties and rewards of maintaining lifelong friendships. Audiences can expect a heartwarming evening of laughter that is sure to last with Always a Bridesmaid, running August 24th to September 9th at the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage.
Always A Bridesmaid will feature Janie Bushway as Sedalia Ellicott, Emily Fink at Kari, Aleisha Force as Libby Ruth, Tauren Hagans as Deedra, Marci Reid at Charlie, and Angie Schworer as Monette. Longtime vagabond, Janie Bushway, returns to the Flat Rock Playhouse stage where she most recently appeared in A Christmas Carol and Driving Miss Daisy. Emily Fink, a former FRP Apprentice, takes the stage again after most recently appearing in the hit musical, Mamma Mia, along with Tauren Hagans and Angie Schworer.
Always A Bridesmaid will be directed by Flat Rock Playhouse favorite, Scott Treadway. Adam Goodrum will serve as Production Manager. Sandra Lopez, CJ Barnwell, Ashli Arnold Crump, Nick Myrvold will serve as Scenic, Lighting, Costume, and Sound Design respectively. Bill Muñoz serves as Stage Manager with Zeinab Caskey as Assistant Stage Manager. Taryn McGee will be designing the properties.
Always A Bridesmaid is presented by Opening Night Sponsor BMW of Asheville, Mainstage Series Sponsor Henderson County Tourism Development Authority, and Executive Producer Park Ridge Health. Hunter Subaru is the official Transportation Sponsor of Flat Rock Playhouse.

Always A Bridesmaid will run August 24th through September 9th at Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage in Flat Rock. Performances Wednesday and Thursday at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, Friday at 8:00 PM, Saturday at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and Sunday at 2:00 PM.
