Foothills Meats to host hot dog eating contest at Hi-Wire Brewing’s Oktoberfest, Sept. 10

PRESS RELEASE FROM FOOTHILLS MEATS:

Asheville, NC- Foothills Meats presents their first annual Hot Dog Eating Contest in conjunction with Hi-Wire Brewing’s Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 10th.

The Oktoberfest event, at Hi- Wire’s Big Top from 1-7pm, features Bavarian games including stein hoisting, grain sack tossing, tricycle racing and more.

The Main Event is the Hot Dog Eating Contest that will be the first known of its kind to feature home-made hot dogs from local meats. Foothills Hot Dogs are made in Foothills’ Butcher Shop from pork and beef from Vandele Farms in Lake Lure, Apple Brandy Beef in Wilkes County and Brasstown Beef in Clay County.

Contestants must pre-register to participate. The entry fee of $20 includes a commemorative t-shirt and the chance to win the $200 purse for the most hot dogs eaten in 5 minutes.
