Friends of the WNC Nature Center to host virtual events to support the WNC Nature Center

Press release from Friends of the WNC Nature Center:

Throughout the year, the Friends of the WNC Nature Center offer fun and engaging programs and events to support the Nature Center. While it’s still cold in Western North Carolina, enjoy these virtual February and March events in the comfort of your home while still supporting the wild animals you love!

Virtual Critter Check Up – Saturday, February 27

The Critter Check Up event has been a favorite family activity for years at the WNC Nature Center. During this event that is usually in person, children work with volunteer veterinary assistants to give their own stuffed animal an annual check up.

This year, due to limitations on indoor gatherings, Critter Check Up is going virtual, and event organizers are taking advantage of this to provide never before seen animal footage and behind the scenes veterinary procedures with the Nature Center’s own red pandas, Leafa and Phoenix. There will also be a hands-on portion of the event where families can still give their stuffed animal a vet exam at home.

Virtual Critter Check Up will go live on February 27 at 2pm. Registrants can tune in that afternoon, or access the private link on demand in the next month to watch the event on their own time. With ticket prices starting at $10 for the event link, this virtual event will be enjoyed by the whole family!
