Give Forward Day offers free services, aid to Hendersonville’s needy on July 9

Press release from Sanctuary Brewing Co.:

The world needs kindness now more than ever, and that’s the philosophy behind Sanctuary Brewing Company (SBC) and Lux Salon’s Give Forward Day: Help for Hendo, a free event designed to offer life skills and necessities to those in need.

The second in a series of events that lend assistance to members of the Hendo community, Give Forward will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, July 9th at SBC, 147 1st Ave E., and feature free coffee, food, clothing, and other necessities – all completely free for attendees.

Community members will have help with interview preparation, job placement and resume writing, and life skills including professional attire, makeup tutorials, basic skills, how to fill out job applications, and haircuts from the talented team at Lux Salon.

“We absolutely love hosting these events,” says SBC co-founder Lisa McDonald. “It’s wonderful to be able to help our neighbors as they transition to a better life for themselves and their loved ones!”

This is the second event in the series; the first was a huge success and provided food, haircuts, clothing, and other necessities for residents throughout the area. Future events will offer health check-ups, nutritional education, and even pet care.

For those who want to assist with Help for Hendo, SBC is currently accepting donations of makeup (new), clothing (business), non-perishable food, hygiene items, and basic office supplies (notebooks, pens, etc.).

Since its opening in 2015, SBC has raised thousands of dollars for charitable causes, offers free Sunday meals for anyone in need, and has a Kindness Wall outside the main entrance that’s always stocked with essentials bags for the local homeless population. Recently featured in Thrive and Our State magazines, Sanctuary has even garnered the attention of big names like comedian Ricky Gervais, racecar driver Leilani Munter, and filmmaker Kip Anderson.

SNC owners McDonald and Joe Dinan are also the co-founders of Sweet Bear Rescue Farm, a 501(c)3 nonprofit sanctuary that’s home to nearly 20 rescued animals including Ollie the pot-bellied pig, chickens Charlotte and Leilani, goats Maggie and Shadow, turkeys George and Paul, Oskar the cat, dogs Harry and TT, and numerous other furry/feathered inhabitants.
