Guardian ad Litem Association of Buncombe County awarded 2017 Parsec Prize

Press release from Parsec Financial:

Parsec Financial, a fee-only wealth management firm, announced today the second of five recipients for the annual Parsec Prize. Guardian ad Litem Association Buncombe County (GALA BC) has been awarded a 2017 Parsec Prize of $25,000 that will aid in providing basic necessities for children in foster care.

GALA BC spends 100% of funds raised on the approximately 400 children currently in foster care in Buncombe County. The Children’s Assistance Fund supplies items such as winter coats, school clothes and supplies and athletic equipment. The fund also provides for extra curricular activities and YMCA summer camps.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire Guardian ad Litem Association (approximately 180 members), I want to thank Parsec Financial-Wealth Management for your extremely generous contribution to our Children’s Assistance Fund. Our goal is to provide children with a sense of normalcy during a very difficult time in their young lives. Thanks to Parsec’s generous donation, the Children’s Assistance Fund will be solvent for years to come.” – Terrance Yeager, GALA Board Member

Rick Manske, CEO of Parsec Financial says, “Guardian ad Litem Association Buncombe County is a quiet champion. They work with a vulnerable population and advocate for people in difficult circumstances. This advocacy is sometimes all the person has in a world of courts and complexity, navigating laws and services. We are glad Guardian ad Litem is here and doing this important work.”

This year, Parsec Financial will commit $200,000 to five organizations in the communities they serve. For more information on the Parsec Prize, you can visit www.parsecfinancial.com/parsec-prize.
