House committee to discuss NC abortion bill

It has been one week since lawmakers first introduced amendments to the bill that would alter the state’s laws. The House Health and Human Services Committee is set to debate the bill Tuesday.

New measures in the bill include provisions to require doctors to be in the room during the entire abortion procedure and requiring hiring regulations for facilities that perform abortions.

Lawmakers will hear from opposition Tuesday, with a rally scheduled at 9 a.m. outside of the legislative building with [abortion rights] supporters.
