Jim Arrendell and The Cheap Suits perform at Sundays Live@Aloft, June 26

PRESS RELEASE FROM ALOFT ASHEVILLE DOWNTOWN:

With the best rooftop venue in town, Aloft Asheville Downtown will host its next Sundays Live@Aloft event on June 26th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. featuring Jim Arrendell and The Cheap Suits, a soul-driven dance party band that features one of the best three-piece rhythm sections in Asheville. The event is open to the public and a suggested $5 donation will benefit The Genesis Alliance. The Sundays Live@Aloft series offers spectacular mountain views surrounding downtown Asheville and features local craft brews, cocktail favorites and light snacks.

“Our Sundays Live@Aloft series allows Asheville locals and hotel guests to come together to experience great live music, food and drinks, and spectacular mountain views while giving back to a deserving local non-profit,” said David McCartney, general manager of Aloft Asheville Downtown. “For our June event, we are humbled to support The Genesis Alliance, and we look forward to supporting several additional area non-profits as we continue the Live@Aloft series into the summer and fall.”

The Genesis Alliance aids local nonprofit organizations that help women and children whose lives have been upended by domestic violence, child abuse and sexual abuse. Their mission is to help raise community awareness of the pervasiveness and effects of violence against women and children and to empower survivors to create and establish healthy and productive lives.

Additional Sundays Live@Aloft events that have been scheduled for the 2016 season include:
August 28th featuring Juan Benavides Group and benefitting Friends of Connect Buncombe

September 25th featuring Free Flow Band benefitting the LEAF Foundation

October 30th featuring Goldie and the Screamers benefitting Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue
The 2016 Sundays Live@Aloft series will feature a raffle fundraiser, and $5 raffle tickets will be on sale at each event. At the last event in October, the winner of the raffle will win a package donated by Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort that is valued at $600 and includes a one night stay at the resort, dinner for two at Chef’s Stage Buffet, and breakfast for two at Selu Garden Café.
