From Joshua Messick:

Joshua Messick will be performing at White Horse Black Mountain, located at 105 Montreat Rd, Black Mountain, NC 28711, on July 25, 8pm. Doors will open at 7:30pm.

Joshua Messick, a local resident, is a National Hammered Dulcimer Champion and has established himself as one of the nation’s leading hammered dulcimer artists. Creativity flows with dynamic passion as he weaves progressive, cinematic stylings & modern techniques into traditional melodies, original compositions, & powerful improvisations.

Joshua relates, “When I play, I seek to convey human emotions that connect all people: love, sorrow, joy, gratitude–all gifts found in the chambers of every human heart. I know that music, especially as it resounds from the ancient hammered dulcimer, reflects the invisible human spirit. This music is a prayer without words and a balm to communicate love, hope, and healing.”

White Horse Black Mountain owners Bob Hinkle and Kim Hughes state, “Artists like Joshua Messick are one of the reasons that we opened White Horse. Don’t miss this.”

This will be the first concert that Joshua will perform with his new acoustic instrumental band “Acoustic Storm”. Musicians include local icons River Guerguerian on world percussion and James Kylen on vibraphone/percussion. The concert will also introduce Houston-based cellist Max Dyer. Max played cello with the prestigious Houston Symphony, tours internationally, and continues to record on hundreds of albums. Joshua Messick fans appreciate Max’s cello on “Hammered Dulcimer Christmas”.

Tickets are $18 advance or $20 door and may be purchased at www.whitehorseblackmountain.com or by calling (828) 669-0816.
