Alternative country singer and guitarist Joe Lasher Jr. of Western North Carolina is on an Ingles-sponsored eight date tour, which stops in Sylva’s Bridge Park Pavilion on May 9, at 6 p.m. Tickets to see the 18 year-old performer cost $7 at the door or five non-perishable canned food items.

The up-and-coming artist, who was recently featured at Music Video Asheville on Wednesday, April 29, pairs his bolder-than-expected voice with messages of positivity and upbeat guitar solos.

All of Lasher’s Down Home tour dates support MANNA FoodBank partner agencies (which distribute donations to end-users), and the Sylva date specifically benefits the Community Table.

Here is the full release from the Sylva show’s presenting sponsor, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce:

This spring, Ingles Markets is sponsoring an eight-stop concert tour for the Joe Lasher Jr. Band that will include Sylva’s Bridge Park Pavilion at 6 p.m., on May 9, presented by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.

Born and bred in the Western North Carolina mountains, 18-year-old southern country rock singer/songwriter Joe Lasher Jr. is quickly gaining the attention of music lovers across the Southeast. Although he’s young in age, his voice and musicianship are that of a seasoned veteran. Music industry professionals have called Joe “one to watch” and, with his band, “a force to be reckoned with.”

The Down Home Tour is visiting towns across Western North Carolina. Tickets for each concert are $7 at the gate or five non-perishable canned food items. All proceeds will benefit local MANNA Food Bank partner agencies. Sylva’s concert will benefit the Community Table.

The money and food raised at each venue will remain in the county where the performance takes place. The radio station 99.9 KISS Country will also be involved with the tour and its promotion.

“I was born and raised here,” Lasher says, “and being able to use what gifts I have to be able to help others is really a blessing to me. And I’m thrilled to be able to work with an amazing corporate partner like Ingles to try and make a difference.”
