McDowell Hospital’s chief of staff recognized as top family practitioner in Asheville area

Adam Kinninger, MD, Chief of Staff of McDowell Hospital, is being recognized for achieving the status of Top Family Practitioner in the Asheville Region by HealthTap.

In addition to the Top Family Practitioner award, Dr. Kinninger also received Honorable Mentions for Most Influential Doctor, Thought Leader, and Top Doctor, all in the Asheville Region. HealthTap is an interactive organization of thousands of U.S.-licensed physicians who volunteer their time to answer medical questions online and via mobile devices for free.

“To be recognized by my peers is an honor. The support of the staff at Family Medicine Nebo and the McDowell Hospital are integral to providing quality care,” Dr. Kinninger said. “I am dedicated to Mission Health’s BIG(GER) Aim: to get each patient to the desired outcome, first without harm, also without waste and with an exceptional experience for the patient and family.”

Dr. Kinninger earned his medical degree from Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He completed his residency in Family Practice at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, and completed a sports medicine fellowship at Kettering Medical Center in Dayton

OH. Dr. Kinninger joined McDowell Hospital in 2011 and became the Chief of Staff of McDowell Hospital in November 2012.
