Press release from the Town of Mills River:
At the conclusion of Mills River’s Town Council meeting on March 12, Councilman Richmond Meadows resigned from the Board.
Originally elected in 2017, Meadows’ was a little more than two years into his four year term. Town Council will appoint a Mills River resident to fill this vacancy. The selected appointee will serve the remainder of Mr. Meadows’ term until the next municipal election in 2021.
Next Thursday, March 19, at 6:30 p.m., Town Council will meet in special meeting, which is open to the public, to discuss the procedure for filling this vacancy. An appointment will be made after a public application and review process is completed. This process is expected to take approximately 30 to 60 days.
Interested parties must reside within District 2 of Mills River’s Town Council Districts.
