NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson to participate in People for Bikes ride from Asheville

Press release:

NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson will be joining PeopleForBikes on its annual fundraising and awareness ride, the Ride on Atlanta, later this month.

The Ride on Atlanta will pedal from Asheville to Atlanta over the course of five days. On March 30 (day 1 of the ride), Jimmie will join vice president of PeopleForBikes, cyclocross champion Tim Johnson and 20 other riders as they pedal the first leg of the journey from Asheville to Charlotte, NC.

Jimmie is an avid cyclist and uses cycling as a means of both transportation, recreation and a large part of his physical training regimen. He is joining the Ride on Atlanta this year to help showcase how bike riders and motorists can safely and happily share the road, while also increasing awareness for bike advocacy.

Jimmie has been a big supporter of PeopleForBikes’ mission to make bicycling in America better, safer and more accessible.
