Ramble Charitable Fund awards $100,000 in grants

From The Ramble Charitable Fund at The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC):

The Ramble Charitable Fund at The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) recently awarded ten grants totaling $100,000. The Fund was established to improve the quality of life in Shiloh and South Buncombe communities by supporting education, economic development, health care and other projects that promote community development. With these grants, total grantmaking since 2008 is $854,826.
Recent grants are:
 
$10,000 to Arts For Life to provide arts-based support services to pediatric patients and families.
$10,000 to Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity for home repairs for low-income households.
$10,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina for a mentoring program for under-resourced youth.
$10,000 to Carolina Day School to support a summer enrichment program for students from low-income families.
$10,000 to Getting Back To The Basics for a summer education program that helps under-resourced children overcome learning loss.
$10,000 to Helping at Risk Kids to support homeless youth and to provide for the unmet needs of children while they are under DSS care.
$10,000 to North Carolina Arboretum Society to promote and facilitate STEAM skill development and environmental education.
$10,000 to OpenDoors of Asheville for a program that recruits, trains, and hires high school students at a living wage to serve as tutors for struggling early elementary readers.
$10,000 to Pisgah Legal Services to provide free civil legal assistance to survivors of domestic violence.
$10,000 to Shiloh Community Association for garden maintenance and rental management.
CFWNC works with families, businesses and nonprofits to strengthen communities through the creation of charitable funds and strategic grantmaking.
